  • DP Architects has, in the last decade, reinvented some 20 major retail facilities along Orchard Roads 2.2-kilometre stretch.

Orchard Road is Singapore's internationally celebrated shopping street, and one of the most successful shopping streets in Southeast Asia and the world, with authorities predicting an annual supply of 17 million tourists by 2015. As a commercial corridor, its many malls work in conjunction with the pedestrian streetscape to create an integrated, large-scale urban spaceone of the most important urban spaces in contemporary Singapore.

Divided into two parts, Evolution of a Streetscape: DP Architects on Orchard Road explores the historical relationship between shopping centres and the streetscape as well as the intimate relationship between DP Architects and Orchard Road itself. Highlighting eight significant projects, including Grand Park Orchard and The Centrepoint, this book demonstrates how closely DP Architects are linked to Orchard Roads evolution.
