This stunning monograph showcases 56 specially selected works from Cheng Taining's illustrious career, which spans nearly 60 years. His portfolio extends to more than 150 projects, many of which have won prizes and significant acclaim, such as the Beijing Great Hall of People and the Bridge Tower of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Richly illustrated throughout, the works are grouped under three key themes: "Realm", "Artistic Conception", and "Language", and provide a vivid articulation of Cheng Taining's creativity and leadership.

Recently Cheng Taining headed the research for 'The Present and Future of Architectural Design in Contemporary China and Research of Policy Measures to Improve Architectural Design,' which are highly regarded as significant contributions to the development of Chinese architectural design and policy strategy. Cheng has published five collections of Cheng Taining's Architectural Works; his work has also featured in documentaries, essays, and anthologies. This book adds to that incredible canon. Cheng Taining Architecture is a magnificent addition to IMAGES' successful Master Architect Series and provides a comprehensive overview of one of China's most celebrated architects.

Cheng Taining is a Fellow at the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE); Master of Engineering Survey and Design (awarded by MOC) Chairman, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the Architectural Design and Theory Research Center, Southeast University; and Chief Architect of China United Engineering Corporation. Cheng has designed more than 150 projects in both China and around the world. Many projects have won national or ministerial prizes and commendations. Among them, the Dragon Hotel and the New Railway Station of Hangzhou were included in collection Classical Chinese Architecture in a Century. The National Theater of Ghana and the Bamako Convention Center in the Republic of Mali were selected in the collection of 20th-Century World Architecture (compiled by UIA), which showcased 1000 outstanding global architectural works of the last century. In 2004, Cheng was awarded the Liang Sicheng Architecture Prize, China's highest award for architects.
